You Style

Seeing it now shining among the most famous fashion magazines and in the hands of thousands of readers of all age groups, we would find it hard to believe that until a few years ago its editorial fate seemed rather uncertain. Born from the ashes of Tu, Tu Style it is a fresh weekly magazine that speaks to women not only about the latest fashion trends but also about delicate issues, as well as opening an unprecedented window on the lives of Italian and international stars.

Since its lively cover, Tu Style manages to capture the attention of a large portion of the female public (and not only) regardless of age, lifestyle and even wallet, also thanks to an affordable price. We know better the history of this extraordinary Italian product .

History of Tu Style

The weekly Tu Style was founded on 24 November 1999. At the beginning the weekly was simply called Tu and was directed by Marisa Demichei; the magazine is characterized not only by its immediate style and therefore close to every type of reader, but above all by a cost that is, to say the least, popular .

The magazine subsequently changed its name, renaming itself Tu Style. In February 2009, the release date of the first issue, Tu Style could be purchased on newsstands for only fifty cents. The intent of his publishing house, Mondadori, was to increase sales and thus broaden the segment of the female audience.

2018: the crisis and the risk of closure

Despite Mondadori's noble intentions, Tu Style experienced a critical moment in 2018, when the publishing house began to seriously evaluate the sale of the weekly.

This intention, however, was abandoned almost immediately: Mondadori decided to keep ownership of Tu Style at the cost, however, of a significant cut in the salaries of its employees who managed to keep their jobs. Tu Style begins to climb back up, also thanks to the sales of digital copies: the magazine continues its renewal: a restyling that rewards, with an increase in sales.

The director of the weekly in 2018 is Annalisa Monfreda .

Change at the top (2019)

2019 is an important year for Tu Style. The magazine was sold to Maurizio Belpietro, former director of the newspaper La Verità, who for the occasion created a new company, Stile Italia Edizioni.

The new publishing house, made up of 25 percent by Mondadori and with the majority in the hands of La Verità Srl, gives new life to the magazine. Belpietro takes over the direction of the magazine.

  • In 2017 the magazine is media partner of the Salon du chocolat in Milan. During the event, the weekly magazine then published by Mondadori donated one hundred free passes to attend an exclusive opening night in which some of the greatest personalities of Italian cuisine took part;
  •  In 2018 an important partnership takes shape between Tu Style and the MKS Milano Fashion School – Istituto di Moda which results in the launch of the Tustyle Fashion School competition. The contest offers a significant fashion stylist scholarship. To promote the initiative Tu Style used three students from the school to create a video tutorial on how to create a look.
